End of the World?

Is the world going to end? I assume that one day in the very distant future it may. Very distant as being long after I'm gone. I heard someone talking about how it was going to happen in a few years. I don't know what they're motives were for talking like this, but he made quite a strong argument. He did not say that God was going to wipe us all out, an asteroid was going to blow up the earth, nor that aliens were going to come and wipe us out of existence. He said that we would just all kill each other. This made me think for a second. To a point he is right. Look at the world now, terrorists killing themselves and many others, countries stockpiling nuclear weapons, war in many places around the world. He also made this point which I thought was rather disturbing: "people, humans hate." cats don't hate mice, they eat mice. Not because they hate mice, because they need to to survive. Humans seem to need to kill other humans to survive. Humans have attached this word and action to many animals like this, and it is humans that have the potential to feel such a strong feeling. It is hate that causes almost every protest, crime, or even war. Some people say it is because of greed and jealousy, that many of these things happen. But what is greed or jealousy? Those without money hate people who have it, those without power hate those who do, and people without love hate people with it because, for the most part, they are jealous. I do not know how this can be resolved, or even if it can. What I do know is that if things continue the way they are, this man my be right, the world may end, a lot sooner than most of us would hope.
